Also known as blepharoplasty, eyelid surgery removes excess skin and tissue from the eyelids to create a refreshed, more youthful appearance. In some cases, this procedure can be performed to remove loose, hanging skin that is interfering with your line of vision. Eyelid surgery can also make a significant difference in patients with puffiness or drooping eyelids that make them look older or more tired than they feel.
This procedure is performed by Dr. Leber under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. The entire surgery usually takes one hour or less to complete and patients can return home a few hours later. Recovery is surprisingly short after eyelid surgery, with some patients returning to regular activities within a few days.
