A Short scar brachioplasty usually involves liposuction of the arm and excision of some redundant skin near the armpit. The incision is significantly shorter than a traditional brachioplasty and is well concealed in the armpit without extension down the length of the arm. This type of brachioplasty is useful for only those patients who have minimal skin laxity in the upper arm (proximal 1/3 of the arm). It does not circumferential reduce the redundant arm skin and therefore its benefits are limited.
